Keep It Simple.

It's like a sauna outside and here in Massachusetts we're conducting a special exercise in water conversation... my advice to you all, keep it simple! The classic beauties above didn't spend hours laboring over their hair - they likely let it air dry or even (gasp!) didn't wash it for a few days. Just think of all the water we could save nevermind the energy minus the blowdryers and flatirons for a hot second! With products on the market now including dry shampoos (love the Bumble and Bumble powder spray for taking your blow-dry long term) do yourself a favor and give your bed head a rest. Simple is chic and conservation is classy.

FIERCE.

That is a fine head of hair right there. My dear friend Joseph Gordon Cleveland from Style Boston TV and host of Fashionably Late tonight might have the hottest hair in Boston at this moment. With a cut by Patrick McGinley and color by Iris Moore both at Mizu Boston, this boy is taking over the city Godzilla style (with less albeit more tasteful hair)! Join us all tonight at the Liberty Beacon Hotel and watch the madness ensue. With hair like his you know it's gonna be good!

Blonde Bombshell!

Do blondes have more fun? Well this one does! In the evidence of the blondes above... this is not a one size or one shade fits all kind of situation. The blonde at the top (one of my best friends Samantha, a stylist at Marc Harris in Boston) is the straight blonde bombshell we all wanna be. Her blonde suits her skin tone and is the most natural, shiny, healthy head of golden beauty you'll ever set your pretty eyes on. For me, a Kate Lanphear (second from top) white ice deluxe is my blonde of choice. With so many blondes to be ,pay attention, cause bleach is the new black. Even if I did hear about the blonde who put lipstick on her forehead because she wanted to makeup her mind I say.... the blonder the better!

Cuts for the Cause!

It's finally here!! This Sunday April 25th, HAIRraising month kicks off with the biggest city wide cut-a-thon Boston's ever seen. With almost ALL the top Newbury St and surrounding area salons participating in this amazing opportunity to get a luxury hair cut for just $40 with all the money goeing to charity! For a full list of participating salons check the link below and I hope to see everyone out on the streets with a their new look and a spring in their step. What could be better than crisp cut for a cause!

Sex Bomb, Sex Bomb.

Now that we've got the winged eyeliner trick down (Thanks J.V. and New Brahmin!) It's time to hone our inner sex kitten and here's how: Blow dry hair as usual. Flip head upside down and tousle. Lightly mist with hair spray underneath towards root. (I said lightly people!! Stop depleting the ozone layer with ya aerosol-less selves!) Now organize some bangs across your face. Shake it out a bit. Strike a pose as seen above and work it hooooooney.

Fresh Cuts.

I had the pleasure this afternoon of hanging out with these two fine females - Miss Stacey Lu and Miss Rose Fortuna and frankly this post doesn't even needs words - the proof is in the picture. Ah-Mazing. As discussed, a little shaved style doesn't need to just speak to the punk rocker, or the tight fader... it can wind up on even the classiest, most stylish of females. Love to you both and anyone rockin' a fresh cut.

Kibble and Curls.

Jeannie Vincent. How I love you and your mad makeup skills. How I also love your story telling abilities and your harrowing experience at the groomers. Wait, the groomers? You heard it boys and girls, J.V. is a dirty dog. Alright, so she's not. But she did go to town on her mane with a bottle that isn't only tested on animals, nope that's right, it's MADE FOR animals. And I would say, the results are nooooot too shabby. As much as I'd like a shiny coat, I mean uh head of hair like the one above, i'm gonna pass on Fido's brand and go with some Bumble and Bumble I think. Anyway, makes for a good tall "tail" (yeah, i'm using the tail joke again, so what, it's my freakin' blog)!
Full disclosure of the deets of this event can be found at one of my favortie blogaries linked after and with the necessary disclosure, the ending isn't as tearful as Lassie but it ain't Lady and the Tramp eitha!!!
